No teeth have come in yet, but the drool factory is hard at work, hence the newest of Evie’s nicknames: Drools Verne. She’s also perfected the art of rolling from her tummy to her back, making tummy time a real challenge. It’s okay if her crawling skills aren’t developing, though, as she is learning the much more important skills of guitar playing:
Overall she remains a constant bundle of laughs and smiles. She’s sleeping well, eating lots, and growing like a weed. Yet with all of that going on, she still finds time to acknowledge her dad’s hilarity:

Norie and I were going through our various nicknames for Evie tonight, so I thought I’d share them. First is the etymology of her most common nickname – “P”:
Evelyn Piper -> Evie P. -> Miss P. -> The P -> P
Then there are the situational nicknames:
There are probably others that I can’t think of at the moment. Fortunately there are enough other people who call her Evie that she should learn her name just fine.
In other news, she officially turned four months old, as this picture makes abundantly clear:
I think she looks a lot like Norie in this one.
She also had another doctor visit. She’s up to 25 1/2 inches and 13 lbs 7 ounces, which means she’s passed Chekhov. The two of them engaged in a passing of the torch ceremony yesterday:
“She’s bigger, but I’m still the hairiest critter in the apartment.”
The doctor said everything’s going well and that Evie’s progressing great. On that note we might be adding solid foods into her diet soon. She’s still not a fan of Tummy Time, which is problem now that she’s mastered the art of rolling over – in the wrong direction:
